In the English Lake District our two adult ospreys are sitting on three eggs. The parents are brilliant sitters and the eggs are rarely shown.
In Bioko, Equatorial Guinea, our young osprey is still concentrating on roosting and fishing. His location has been described as where there is “a fairly big river coming off the mountain where there is a lake further up the mountain. It opens up at the beach and the fish were gathering at this area so clear I could catch them with my hand….If I were an osprey I would stay here lounging around the beach in the trees on the shore catch a fish a day easy. No one disturbing him as he has no competition here.”
Many thanks to our friend on Bioko.
